I thought this was a nice mood shot of two of the morphs.



The female's a tangerine albino possible het hypo; the male-on-the-move is a ghost possible het albino. So I'm testing the genes of both animals. At a minimum, I'll get triple hets. But it could be better:



If the female IS het hypo, they'll produce babies half of which will be hypo double het for anery and albino, and half will be triple hets. Any hypo babies will prove she IS het hypo.



If the male IS het albino, I'll get babies half of which are albinos double het for anery and hypo. Any albino babies from the clutch will prove he IS het/albino.



And if they're BOTH het for those possibilities--

--if the pairing is in fact albino het/hypo X ghost het/albino--

--I'll get babies which (if this top-of-my-head calculation is correct) will be 1/4 hypos double het; 1/2 albinos het anery and either het/hypo or homozygous hypo (hybino); and 1/4 triple hets. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong with any of those details. More importantly, armed with the knowledge of their full genotypes i'll be able to take even better advantage of them next year.



They've copulated three or four times now.
