Pastel: adj. Pale and soft in color

Whether it's the dictionary meaning of "pastel" or the "boa people's" meaning of pastel, your boa, Eric, is beautiful. It speaks for itself. If someone wants to call it a pastel, I think the dictionary term fits. If someone says it is not a pastel because it did not come from a proven line of pastels, then that's fine. This debate will never be seen eye to eye by everyone, especially since most boa breeders do select animals based on color/pattern. There will be more and more "pastel-like" boas on the market because of that fact alone. My buddy Gil has been breeding boas to bring out the orange in his BCI for many years now and he calls tham just that...orange boas. Are they genetic...it appears to be so because of selective breeding over generations. Isn't that how most pastels came to be? Maybe the boa breeding community as a whole are making pastel animals without even realizing it? Just from choosing high-color/contrast animals to work with? This is just a thought and it would be interesting to hear other points of view on this. Just my ramblings.
