The cool end of your tank should be in the low 70s, the warm end with the UTH, should be in the high 80s/low 90s. You need to have a thermostat on the UTH to make sure that it doesn't overheat.



74 degrees is fine for the cool end of the tank, so no problems there.



I'd advise finding yourself a good book as a starting point - knowing the right temps for a Corm is just one of the basic requirements for an owner. The new edition of the Kathy and Bill Love book "Corn Snakes - The Comprehensive Owner's Guide" will tell you what you need to know as you start out.
