Have anyone proven out ringer characteristics as an inheritable trait?

Also, does the term "ringer" always mean a streak of pied near the snake's vent or does it also mean stripes around the diameter of the snake. I've seen the term both ways and wasn't sure.

(On a separate note, my baby ball took a frozen/thawed hopper as its first meal! I was pleasantly surprised...thrilled, actually. I'm sharing this here since my wife gave me a long, blank stare on hearing the news. I think this meant that she was going to warm up the car and start packing her stuff if she found anything furry stored in the freezer, but hey, you guys are the experts on this stuff. lol)
