It is a dated article, but go to www.pythons.com/trovan.html and see a paper we wrote on the subject about ten years ago. I'll update the pictures and text eventually. We are now using the AVID system, which is very simple to use. It is especially useful when you are breeding a group of animals (a bunch of normal females for instance) .. you can scan the female breeding the male and immediate tell which one is being bred.
