wow that was fast!

He looks nice, if sold to you as a surinam he probably is,
you would have to base that on how much you trust the source
of where you got him. Someone may have said it looked like
a cross just because he doesn't have tons of widows peaks, but
that doesn't mean he *is* a cross, there is always variation.

I only advised against BCC because it wasn't clear at that time
that you had prior snake experience which you explained, so I
think you should do fine, and as long as *YOU* like him that is
all that really matters.

As far as over-handeling.. yes it is possible to handle a snake
too much. Basically it just stresses them out, esp when they
are young like he is... he still doesn't know if you may or
may not try to eat him! I don't handle my snakes for at least
3 days after they have eatten to make sure I don't stress
them out and cause a regurgitation. I also usually give any
snake 1-2 weeks of no handling at all if they are new in my home or have
just moved into a new bigger cage, I want to make sure they
are comforatble in their cages. (I have one neonate that just
moved from a semi-opaque shoe box into a 2' neodesha, hasn't
come out from her hide rock for 2 weeks... once I see them out
and exploring at night then I start to handle again.)

Typically 1-3 times a week seems to be good, but of course,
each snake has it's own personality and some seem to enjoy
the 'out time' more than others and you will learn what you
snake likes as you both grown together.

Good luck and enjoy your new lil guy!
