>>I always thought a full spectrum and a heat lamp were acceptable. Do I need another bulb that is just UVB? Does anyone have a particular brand or name of a bulb they use?
Full spectrum is a term used very loosely by lighting companies. Some "full spectrum" bulbs are simply wide spectrum. I reccomend Zoo-med flourescents (Reptisun) for their UVB, Reptisun 5.0 for a short cage, and Reptisun 10.0 for a tall cage. I also hear that for really big cages you could use a mercury vapor bulb, such as Mega-Ray, that provides both heat and UVB, but I don't know much about them. For heat you don't need a "reptile bulb" as you see in petstores, a normal household bulb will work fine.
