boatload of color underneath that melanin. Then again... there could be none. Its a gamble.

Sort of the opposite of "pastelism" (as defined by Jeff Ronne). Which is to reduce melanin, revealing color allowing to better selectively breed the boas with the best color, in turn to make the most colorful albinos.
