Posted by: Predator_317 at Mon May 30 21:27:58 2005 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Predator_317 ] I've got a 5 foot common boa that I can't get to eat. I got him from a friend who bought to many snakes all at once and decided that he didn't want this one. I brought him home on May 7th and tried to feed him (him is only used as an easy term as it has not been probed). He refused a small rat, so I decided to give him a week to adjust to his new home. A week later, he would still not eat. He shed on the 21st, so I offered again and he still wouldn't take anything. He has been offered newborn rat pups all the way up to jumbo rats, I even offered mice and he wasn't interested. The guy I got him from said that he ate about 2 weeks before I took him so that puts it at about 6 weeks that he hasn't eaten. His cage temp is about 85-90 on the hot side and about 75-80 on the cool, he has a good size water dish and a hide box. Humidity stays at least 60%. I'm kinda lost because this is the only snake that I havn't raised from a baby, and my others eat when I offer them food weekly. Unfortunatly i'm not able to get any better information about him as his last owner only had him for about 2 weeks. If anybody has any ideas that could help me, or needs more info that I have left out, please let me know. Feel free to let me know if I am just being paranoid and there is nothing to worry about at this point. | ||
