She laid six, twice as many as last year. Is that normal?
Also, one of the has not gotten hard like the rest, and is a bit yellow. I am assuming it is not viable, what should I do with it, all of the eggs are stuck together?
The eggs are in a plastic shoe box filled 3/4 full of long fiber Sphagnum moss that was soaked, then wrung out to damp. Do I need to add water from time to time?
When should I expect to see hatching? They were laid on 05-28-05.
Has anyone heard of them eating the eggs? She laid them while I was on vacation, my wife saw the six, and when I got home, there were only five.
Lastly, I am keeping them in an area of the house that varies from 78-82 degrees. Is that going to be too much of a variance? Is 82 too hot?
Please let me know, I do not want a repeat of last year, all three died about 3/4 of the way thru their development.
thanks for your help!
Matt
