You just made a very common, often fatal mistake. I would venture to say that you have very little experience in the keeping of snakes, else you would have known better. Do yourself and your snakes a favor...do some reserch.
Yes, the snake was more than likely killed and consumed. Learn form your mistakes and be more careful in the future. Otherwise, sell the snakes and buy a poodle.
