Depending on the size of the dragon you could use superworms. The dragon should be AT LEAST 12 inches before starting with them, and even then they should be introduced gradually as they have more chitin than crickets. Start offering a couple freshly molted worms. If they are passed fine, then try a few non-molted worms, if they are passed fine, you can continue to gradually increase intake up to 10-15 worms 2-4 times a week. Superworms are an OK staple insect for larger dragons, don't smell, and are NOT fatty as people often say... Silk worms are still better though as they have something in them that makes calcium absorbtion easier, but silkies are expensive.
