The albino annulata's were first produced by myself back in 2001, from a pair of tangerine phase annulata siblings. The siblings were produced from a pair of wild caught animals collected back in the mid-90's in Freer, Texas. I have a short article I have written that I will e-mail anyone who wants to have a copy.
We proved out the WC female was indeed het. for albino, when she was bred back to a male albino and produced albinos in the clutch.
We unveiled the albino annulata's last year at the NARBC show in Anaheim, and got a ton of feedback from our peers and milksnake experts.
The price was intentionally set high as we are so tired of seeing the prices of colubrids fall like a ton of bricks within a few years. I feel that $3000 is a lot of money to spend on colubrids, but to be honest when you consider the thousands people are spending on all those ball pythons morphs it makes my $3000 asking price seem justified considering our albino annulata are probally one of the rarest snakes in the world as only a handful of albinos exist.
As to the investment side of the albino annulata. I only see a positive upside to them and truly believe them not to be a dead end morph. People there is a lot going on with the annulatas, only time before you will see. Some of the projects we are already working on include spotted albinos, pinstripe albinos, reduced pattern, and hopefully patternless albinos. All of these projects take patience and time to develop and create so hopefully in the near future we will have more to offer. Not to mention all the other secret annulata projects people are working with. I truly believe the annulatas will rival the honduran morphs in the near future.
Our web site has not been updated for a long time because we have been busy working and taking care of all the animals in the collection. We will be working with Rick from Renegage Reptiles to get our new site up as soon as possible, plus a site dedicated for the albinos as well www.albinoannulata.com we hope to have everything updated with the next few months.
Kind Regards,
Susan
