that most zoos take the position that private citizens SHOULD NOT be allowed to keep exotic and/or dangerous wild animals. Whether this be for the reason which Bud stated, or simply for good PR, it doesn't matter. The normal official response from zoo officials when something like this happens is that people shouldn't be able to keep these animals.
