Posted by: jburokas at Tue Jun 14 12:37:45 2005 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by jburokas ] yes, be concerned. if she is dropping a few here and there on surface...she does not have a suitable nest. you may say, "so what if she lays them" but she can hold them in and they can adhere to one another leading to dystocia or being "egg bound" and that is lethal frequently. she needs a large 12" deep dirt container. the dirt needs to be diggable to excavate a nest chamber and wont collapse in if she digs. it should be moist but not wet and the temp ideally is around 83 degrees F inside of it. I lost a monitor female from this complication last year and monitors are the hardiest of lizards. get on it! good luck! [ Hide Replies ]
