I believe in keeping localities straight and guys like me and Gus Renfro and a few others are seemingly becoming a dieing breed. However, If you do not know that a Suriname came from Suriname and a Guyana came from Guyana, it is very hard to tell the difference. There are some pockets of Jungle here and there that seem to exhibit different characteristics in pattern and in color, but for the most part, it can all be found in both areas. There was a very respected Herper that is currently writing a book on localities that came by an importer friend of mines place, that had just received a shipment of boas. The author, started pulling boas out of the bag and started boastfully telling us were each one came from and would bet his life that he could tell you by just looking at their patterns and colors. When he was through giving his educational sermon, my buddy looked at him laughing and told him that all the boas, not only came from Guyana, but came from the same Island on the Essiquibo!! Needless to say, it was a humbling experiance for the author.........Johnson Herp [ Hide Replies ]
