This way you can plug the lights in to it and set it to turn on the lights in the morning and shut them off at night. Mine is set for 7 am and 7 pm right now. in winter, you cut back the hours. Then you don't need to worry if you're out for the weekend. Do you use a log or some type of hide? Mine sometimes retreat into log and won't come out for a while sometimes a couple days. It's normal. Mine are active this time of year, but come fall and into winter they've gone in to brumation (hibernation). my one was brumating for 3 wks! Definitely get a timer so he gets the proper hours of light as well as sleep! [ Hide Replies ]
