I own and have owned a variet of lizards and amphibians, but i've never breed any of them. I've always wanted to breed my water dragon, except finding sexable water dragons that are old enough to add with my 4 year old one has been an impossible mission. I decided instead i'm going to invest about 200 dollars to re-do the interior of his enclosure. Later in the summer, or when my classes start, I want to get my first snake(s). I was thinking of doing pythons but i decided they'd be a little too large for my parents taste. Plus Cornsnakes can be much more beautiful. If i do get corn snakes, i'll definately want to breed them for a variety of reasons, mainly because i've always wanted to breed some sort of reptile, my frogs don't count because they're amphibians :P. I hope to give away and sell the babies, I can try selling them here on kingsnake but i'm not sure how well that actually works out. If not I have a few good local pet stores that specialize in reptiles and I can talk to them. I definately don't plan on making profit, i don't know if that is even possible. In fact, i'll probably keep half of the first clutch so I have a large breeding number.



I want to do a sort of rack system using large sweater boxes.. unless you guys have a better idea. I also will either use a 2 bulb 48" flourescent fixture I already have for heating one side, or heat tape. Haven't decided on a substrate, any ideas? Anyways I like the snow corns i'd probably go with them, but when breeders say pair, they mean male and female correct? Don't want to make a mistake hehe.



I hear there are a lot of breeding methods and care tips that vary. What breeding method works best for you guys?
