colubrid (king to milk) hybrid genetics ?

I am wondering - do the parents of milk/king hybrids have to be high red to produce high red babies? If you have a milk-king hybrid with little to no red (out of a snake that oridinarily has red - such as imperial pueblans out of cal king/peublan cross, or jurassic milks out of hondurans X lemon kings), can they still pass on red colors in the babies?



Example: I have seen some black/yellow imperial pueblans and I wonder what they could produce if bred together, or do you really need to select adults with a lot of red if you want red on the babies? There is not a lot written on hybrid results and genetics (outside the albino trait.)
