the fluorescent light that comes installes is seemless, out of the way, clean, small, simple, perfect... I don't know why on earth anyone would want to use an incandescent bulb in there.

The heat inside or 'undertank' is basically the same.. one is inside under a sheet of plastic (still under something), the other is applied outside but I think is left uncovered... i'd much rather have inside covered.

personally I don't think the heat is strong enough to use a thermostat/rheostat with the 421d, unless the room it is in is always hotter than 75.
