Size, temperment, etc. are all locality dependent. Many western milks are known as lizard eaters, especially the young. I've seen pales from localities only 60 air miles apart here in MT that are as different as night and day. Animals from one locality are large and docile, while specimens from another are smaller and very "nippy". Great animals and a pleasure to work with either way.
