Thanks, Stephanie. Unfortunately I was doing some herp work on a site which will probably end up holding a uranium enrichment facility. Lots of critters will end up on the short end of the stick. Luckily the awesome female was on some nearby state lands, but the male and hatchling were not so lucky. 
I was on the Sevilleta NWR south of Albuquerque yesterday, they havent received summer rains yet, but while I was there a quick drizzle fell for about 5 minutes. It was enough to get a couple box turtles moving, one was an old female, full of eggs. Can't wait for the rains to come and the turtles to come out.
