I just got a few of these to fit into a built-in bookshelf- they look very nice!
I echo the concern about the substrate in the track, I just keep a paintbrush handy to brush it out, but then I have to run the vac to clean up the floor...
I am still working on balancing the heat- I am using some with the dividers, which fit snugly and firmly, but for the first time I didn't actually use the adhesive to attach the heater pads, just taped them on, the plastic bottoms don't conduct heat so fast as glass, which I think is good as I keep mostly colubrids that don't need to be baked... but it is a different game than glass tanks...
I've had trouble finding locks that fit- I'm assuming the ones Vision sells fit fine, but I wanted a different look and got another manufacturer and they are too thick- you really need the very skinny 1/16" ones...which leads me to say the door gap is really very small, you would be quite hard put to spread it to 1/8" I think. Anyway case locks aren't available at all hardware stores...
The corner posts/units are quite sturdy- no fear of them spreading, but I am concerned about the size of the holes- I am holding off putting in small hatchlings, it's doubtful they could squeeze out but I'm afraid the openings would be tempting for a small snake to focus on and repeatedly try to get out. I really need to make some tests on that point...I don't say one way or the other just that I'm concerned.
I like them but am still getting used to them...
