never, ever, never, ever, never....(OK, you get the idea)leave your cham alone for a second. Did you read the post about the guy whose cham got snatched by a bird as the guy looked on? 
Also, a good idea to only allow him in a tree where you can reach, or climb, to any branch. But I guess after this you will know these things 
If you have good neighbors and friends I am sure that with ladders and some help you will be able to get him down. If not, once you locate him set your alarm for about an hour before sunrise (that's if you can even sleep) and get out there with a big cup of silkworms or some other favorite food of his and hopefull he will come down. But maybe you will find him wihtin your reach - oK< it's getting dark - go get your flashlights! well, it's getting dark here - not sure where you live. ----- Chameleon Help & Resource Info
