Nature absolutely forbids mating separate, unique species. Examples:
Mate a horse & a donkey and you get a mule. But it is sterile, and very stubborn. To create more, you must mate more horses & donkeys.
Mate a lion with a tier and you get a liger. But they tend to die within 10 years, they have strong endocrine problems.
In every instance I know of, mating unlike species creates mutant hybrids with severe health problems which almost never die from old age. (Think of the deception you must use when you mate the unlike species - which normally would not have mated on their own.)
I must question the wisdom of creating mutants, no matter how colroful. Probably best that we play by the rules and obdey the laws of nature.
(Any desire to mate a family member with a baboon or gorilla?)
