I would think you would be aware that as genetic testing has become more commonplace, some of the animals we called pure species are products of crosses, or hybrids. This will only become more and more common. Also, just this year, I have seen two different types of hybrids in nature. I would agree with you if your talking about crossing a kingsnake with a turtle, I don't believe that has been done, how weird would that be?

Also you should be aware by now, that crossing a horse and a donkey makes a mule, but so does lack of education and strong inaccurate paradigns, those ways of thinking creates mental mules.

As hybrids do occur in nature and it also successfully occur in captivity. In fact, the term hybrid vigor, was coined because sometimes the results seem stronger then the parents.

You may want to attend the hybrid discussion group, as you will become aware(educated) that hybrids have been produced thru many generations without any more problems then you see here, and some have been doing so for a few decades.

You may be aware that many petshop pets are also results of hybridization. Is a dog a dog? or a canary a canary? As is much of the food on your table.

Surely you are not required to like it, keep it, or do it, or eat it, or condon it. But you should get over the old horse and mule thing. I believe that old story and produced more asses(as in jackass) then mules. But I guess this whole hybrid thing is for that forum and has been done to death. But you must not be AWARE of that.
