SteveH You are right all of my turtles have been in white plastic tanks.I also kept them in a heated building all winter. The normals with the golden shells were a suprize to me too. When they were young all of the shells were dark, even on my pinks. Now I have about 20 or so pinks and normals with golden shells. Some of my other pinks just have light shells not golden. Then I have pinks with dark shells and also normals with grayish colored shells. My leucistic are also mixed up with different colored shells. I don't think that the color of the tank has anything to do with the colors of the turtles, who knows but we all keep trying to figure it out.
