Unfortunately, you have asked a question which cannot be answered so simply.



Normally, a chameleon can tolerate some handling - even a wild caught. Handling can cause the animal stress - yes, which in turn can cause problems which could contribute to a shorter life. It can also be said that handling any chameleon once could result in death - if you dropped it, for example.



So... the answer isn't quite so simple.

However - most captive bred chameleons have experienced handling to some degree while growing up - so occassional handling should not result in premature death.
