Exactly. I agree with Paul and metal. Why consider the "probability" of the albino gene in a group where 25% actually EXPRESS the gene. These are obviously proven albino. So, why include them in the craps shoot?
Now we have some normal looking animals, 1/3 of which will be all normal, and 2/3s of which will carry the gene, but not show it. If you were to scoop up one snake, and ask yourself "does this carry the gene for albino?" your answer should be maybe, and maybe not. This is where the 50/50 is coming from. The PROBABILITY that this specific snake in your hand will have the albino gene or wont have the gene is 66%, since 5 snakes are normal looking, and 10 snakes look normal, but carry the gene. ----- Tom
