If you can successfull maintain western hogs you should be fine with eastern indigos as their requirements are pretty similar (except for the fact that indigos need much more room). I maintain my indigos at summer temperatures that range from the low 70's on the cool side of the cage to the upper 70's/low 80's on the warm end with a small basking area (via a pro product radiant heat panel) that allows the snake to reach temps of 88-90. Night temps drop to the mid 60's/low to mid 70's depending on the season. During the spring/summer my indigos get the above day temps for approx. 10 hours a day with a steady night decrease while in the winter, they are only given a basking site for approximately 4 hours daily (and night temps drop to the upper 50's/low to mid 60's with day temps reaching the low to mid 70's). Obviously, many keepers follow different regimens with equal success. But, I don't think the cooler climate will hurt, in fact, that could work to your advantage with couperi.
