I was fortunate enough to be taught by Dr. Mount at Auburn.
Other venomous snakes of Alabama that somehow weren't mentioned: Crotalus adamanteus, found only in the south part of the state (and vanishing rapidly), and Micrurus fulvius fulvius, which is common in the southern part of the state... and in a couple of small pockets much further north; an interesting distribution to be sure...
