I believe I once read that if a chameleon holds himself close to a branch he is stressed. For example, his stomach and head are laying on the branch. Is this true?



This is his setup: 1 month old diego suarez



- tank - L20 x W12 x H 15 - sides have air holes screen lid (I like tanks for young chameleons, after 3 months, I transfer them to screen)



- reptiglo 8.0

- 25watt house bulb for basking

- paper towel for substrate

- plenty of branches for climbing foliage

- feeding baby crickets, mostly free in the tank, trying to get him to eat them from a cup (he is starting too, but didnt eat any meal worms from a cup today, I think because they dont move, I also believe this is the reason why he is slow on eating out of a cup for crickets, because the crickets sit there motionless in the cup, regardless I always throw in a dozen or more crickets in the morning to run around more at night if he ate them all.

- dusting with repcal calcium phospherous free

- dusting with herptivite

- ambient temperature - 78-80 during 6 hour heat light time, 75 for the rest of the day.

- basking temperature - low 90's

- night time temperature - 70

( its been really hot in my house, I would like to have a lower ambient temp at 75, ,basking at high 80's, and night time at high 60's low 70's, but its been to hot )So I only leave his basking light on for roughly 6 hours a day.

- misting 3 times per day, I put special reptile drops in the water. ( He drinks in the morning when I spray, but not the other times )
