RE: new tegu not eating

I agree with both posts - and if your temps and all are good, its mostly likely that the tegu is just stressed. It's not unusual for them to bury themselves for a few days when they first arrive.



I just got a female blue and she buried herself for three days and didn't come out once. But now shes acting completely normal.



In addition - if the tegu is stressed out, it will not eat if you are hovering over the cage watching it! Leave some food out for it and walk away, give him a chance to eat when there isn't a big scary human to worry about.
