Hello A.C.,

While Craig’s description of the taxonomic changes recently incurred by the genus Drymarchon is correct, it was not until Dr. Wolfgang Wuster expounded upon the work of J.T Collins, utilizing multivariate analysis of morphological characters, that the changes to the systematic arrangement of the genus Drymarchon became widely accepted.
I believe Dr. Wuster’s Indigo Systematics page, derived from the conclusions of his study, which was published within the Herpetological Journal in March of ’02, will answer any questions you may have concerning the recent changes to the genus of Drymarchon.
