I personally try for 7-8 ft at 3.5 to 4.5 years old before I even consider an attempt to breed. I did not raise these female But, I am considering gettting her into my collection.
12 or 14 slugs a few weeks ago... There is no question that she is female.
I know she is mature. But, she is just too small for her age. Even just having slugs she looks so thin, I think if she had have live babies she would have probably die...
I know Boas tend to grow faster when they are young.
Now my questions are:
1.- Knowing she is a 5 year old Boa will she still catch up and grow quickly with appropiate feeding?
2.- At this point even with regular feedings, will she take years, and years, and years to archive full size potential?
3.- I know it is probably unreasonable to expect this animal to grow 2.5 to 3.5 ft and grain 15 to 20 pounds in a year. Maybe 2 years?
In my opinion it will be a long, long while for me to see her having 20-30 healthy babies from her. This is a hard desition...
Luis
