I have recently purchased a male BP that has no fancy morph name or anything like that. I have no breeding records for him other than he is a captive bread male that is about 10 months old. After spending a lot of time reading these forums I notice that people who breed are always breeding to a normal female. My question would be can you breed to this male who I have now genetic background on with a female? I don't have a female yet and have plenty of studying to do on the subject before diving into breeding.

My questions would be:

1. What would I be getting into if breeding him?
2. Should be be bred to a fancy female or another generic BP? What are disadvantages and advantages of both?
3. Should I not breed this guy since I have limited infor on him?

This is a picture of my guy. He's so sweet!
