There is nothing wrong with breeding normals.Captive bred animals are always a good thing.However i think you will find that people are using traited males as to create more genetically mutated animals with normal(less expensive)females.

In other words...any normal males you hatch will be pet quality only.(Females are always in demand though)

Would be good practice.
If you are successful,then...maybe move on to an expensive genetically traited male.
