Ok, I'll try to answer this one:

1. There is no defenitive answer on this one, unfortunately. When the frog is as small as yours, feed it smaller portions at a higher frequency: about every third day with 2-3 large crickets for example. When he gets over two inches, you could feed around 3-4 large crickets every 3-4 days. When adult(4-6" usually) you can maybe feed them about once a week but some frogs feed even less frequent, maybe since they are compleately buried(they can go months without food during fall/winter if they are compleately buried/brumating).

2. Food: Minnows I don't know about(search through the normal "Frog Forum" and you'll probably find a few threads about the subject, EdK knows alot about this stuff), but you can feed crickets, earthworms/nightcrawlers, zoophobas(not so often) and mice/pinkys, but you have to feed those at a lower frequency than, let's say, crickets. I also suggest feeding with a tonge(if you're not already?) since then the risk of ingesting substrate is reduced and you can keep track on much much he/she is eating.

3. Well, in time you'll have to get a bigger tank, a 10-20 gallon will do. And gravel is really not the best option: it can easily case impaction and possible death if accidently ingested. So, please, get rid of that gravel right away.

I would reccomend unfertilized soil such as "Bed-A-Beast"(http://shop.petsmart.com/product/2534374302023694/282574488339168/845524441775609.htm). You don't have to change it more than 1-2 times a month.

4. If you will be using Bed-A-Beast(or similiar) bedding I suggest a shallow waterdish.

5. The frogs defecate more often when they are small then more rearely when bigger. Mine defecates about every to every other month. I don't think you'll have to worry.

6. About transporting I know very little. But the book "The Horned Frog Family and African Bullfrogs" by Bartlett(I strongly reccomend it: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0764111272/qid=1122385895/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/102-2688440-9461726?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) says: "Horned Frogs and African Bullfrogs are easy to ship. The frogs are placed individually in deli-cups, then in a styro-box, and whisked to destination by or air frieght.". The book suggests a few shippers: Express Mail, Air frieght and possibly FedEx(if they will accept to ship the frog, local manager's prerogative)

Hope it helped
