Finding a reasonably priced (and qualified) vet shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just call around.



People have this idea that vet bills are going to be through the roof everytime. Not so. Your vet will probably charge you for the office visit and if he determines that you ball needs a prescription of some type he will most likely have it on hand and demonstrate how to properly administer it.



Don't be afraid to discuss the fees beforehand. Hell, you can even haggle a little bit...I've done it in the past and saved myself a fair amount of money in the process. Medication costs can add up but don't expect the whole trip to cost you much more than roughly $80 including the office visit fee (and that's IF you end up with a prescription and the prices on them vary so much I couldn't begin to speculate how much it would ACTUALLY cost).



Bring him in...it can't hurt...just call around and ask about the vet's experience with reptiles first. Go to the most qualified (experienced) one you find. Experienced herp vets won't cost any more than unexperienced vets (unless they specialize in herps...but even then the fee increase should be modest).
