The problem with the deformed one is that the buyer came here and said "he assured me that it was because of a vitamin deficiency in the mother and it was not genetic"

Tails can be dropped for many reasons. Deformities can happen for many reasons. Many of those reasons are good enough NOT to support a particular breeder.
I've heard great things about Steve @ Geckos Etc and really feel the thread about his selling deformed geckos was a misunderstanding. But it appears the buyer purchased the deformed gecko with the intention of getting a good deal on breeders, and asked Steve questions which were not answered with PET ONLY as I feel they should have been treated as long as their quality of life was not going to be diminished.
>>I wouldn't be too alarmed, especially if you didn't buy from him. I don't even know who he is, but wouldn't hesitate if he had something I liked just because he had sold a gecko with an eyelid problem and a regen tail. As we all know, tails can and do fall off. I have a gecko who lost her tail in April for absolutely no apparent reason. It was pretty disturbing to open her enclosure to find a big, fat tail sitting up on the hidebox, let me tell you. She's kept alone and I still for the life of me can't figure out why it happened, so I'll just chalk it up as 'one of those things'. It happens a lot more with hatchlings caged together, I'm told, but really not something to worry about. Really, I'd look at it as one gecko, because the regen is a non-issue.

>>Especially as Robert points out that this guy sold many geckos at the recent show, it makes sense people will want to comment on what they bought there.
