Jason - it's only paper towel, not an expensive item so I would change it weekly. Wasn't this discussed previously? As for checking for bacteria - unless you are a scientist with an electron microscope you cannot know there is none lurking. As a matter of fact I can guarantee you that there are! Just change weekly - why take chances with the health of your pets???
