Pet Animal Welfare Statute (PAWS) Alert

On the surface this legislation appears to only apply to mammals, but the legal analysis on the link below shows that it can be construed to apply to birds and herps as well. We should all be concerned about this expansion of the animal welfare act (awa) and the definition changes that open the door for the congress and the USDA to invade the privacy of our homes. Examine this material carefully and write to your representatives in D.C. and tell them to oppose these bills and any bills pertaining to mandatory microchipping. Ask them to cut funding for the USDA.
