Yes, they can take some time to acclimate to their new surroundings, and will eat and act more relaxed as time goes on.



The movements you are seeing is called push-ups and head bobs, the male will do this when hes feeling frisky, towards his lady or before mating,........



Or males will also show this behavior in front of other males as to say this is my territory, And may posture his back up high and OPEN his mouth and GAPE at another male that threatens his turf.

This is called "DISPLAYING" it can take place before an actual BRAWL occurs.



I do not know why your male is keeping his mouth open while doing this at a female.



Are you REAL sure they are not both CLYDES ?
