What kind of turtle do you want? There are lots of cool turtles. Choosing a turtle has more to do with your capabilities than popularity though. If you have the space and can keep up with the water quality needs a fly river would neat. Or if you want something a little more like the alligator snapper then a mata mata might be kind of cool. Those have really specialized care needs too. I love all the species I keep. From my red belly to my diamondback. They are all different and great to take care of.
