Female Jacksons are capable of breeding at a very young age. WC females are almost ALWAYS gravid and retain sperm. How do you think they became established in HI so quickly?  
I don't think a 175 gallon reptarium would be too big for your jackson. Of course if you free range his prey items, he might have a hard time finding it all.
One thing that I noticed about Jacksons (at least with the WC Jacksons that I had) was that they 'talk' a lot to each other. The males will display to one another, and the females (of course). They also have this thing they do, where they raise their heads and do a fast jerking action while putting on their most GORGEOUS colors. Very subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) variations in turquoise, lemon-greens, and high yellows. The females will also talk back to the boys, usually with a jerky side-to-side motion, which basically mean 'back off Jack, I'm not interested!'. Always talking though.
