Hi; I was wondering if anyone could share some basic care tips on baby Reeve's turtles. I have a pair of adults , and the female is a normal big head chinese , but the male is black. We had eggs a couple of months ago and 2 were totally non-viable, one reached a state of arrested development, and one hatched. So, we had a black baby with typical Reeve's head markings (hybrid). The baby did not absorb his yolk sack after 14 days and actually died this morning. I'm leaning toward problems with the eggs and thier development, but I'm not sure if this is the case.



Incubation temps were 81-85 hovering mostly in the 82 range, and the baby was moved to a moist container after hatching. I didn't mess around with him much, as the yolk sack was large and was staying large as time went by. I kept his temps similar to the incubation temps and noticed that he stayed very quiet all the time. So, i'm wondering what you do with your babies, and if you might see any flaws in my care of this baby??? I rehab reptiles and have been hatching alot of eggs lately without incident, but I want to be sure I'm not making any mistakes for future Reeve's.
