This is just hearsay (i.e. I didn't actually see it happen) but one of my friends swears that he saw a M.plumbicolor sort of rotate it's fangs. One friend was holding a M.plumbicolor by the head while the other one was counting the head scales. The one who was counting swears that he saw one fang sort of slip out of the mouth and poke the other friend in the thumb. The snake never moved it's head. However, since I was counting an Argyrogena fasciolatus at the time, I didn't see it myself. I did however see the bite mark on the ball of my friend's thumb.
