Is bigger better?

I have a 75 gallon tank and a 12 gallon nano tank, I want to setup a frog viv. i have new to frogs and would like some advice. As newbie should I go small first and work my way up or start off with a small setup. Also, can anyone recommend a good book. I would like to learn as much as I can before I purchase anything.
