"Prime" is just another water conditioner similar to Amquel. I don't know why you would need to use either except to initially condition urban tap water to remove chlorines, chloranamines, heavy metals if you are using this for your waterways and false bottoms. If you are going to use bottled spring water, you shouldn't have to treat it further. RO water for misting needs no treatment. "Prime" claims to help protect against parasites, bacteria and fungus, and indeed this may help with fish. It is supposed to have an ingredient that helps promote the slime coat in fish. However, frogs are not fish, and do not have scales; nor do they exude a slime coat. ----- Patty
