Now this may come across as a very self serving answer to this but here it goes. The "compact rack" from us (Freedom Breeder) has a removable plastic lid that has less ventilation than our Original racks. If you wanted more humidity you could easily ask for a lid with less holes or more holes. The temperature issue is a different issue. Our heat panels are designed to be placed under 1/3rd of the tray to allow the animal to choose between a "cool" side and a "warm" side. This is a very standard setup for most all herp caging. The price comparision is not completely accurate unless I am mistaken. I believe their rack is not offered with a controller and ours is. It is a 130 dollar controller so the price would be 965 for the rack without the controller. Although all heating elements I know of require a controller. Ours comes assembled and theirs requires assembly which may or may not be an issue. I did not take a look at them very well but I did notice one that was being rolled across the show and looked at the bottom where the heat goes. That bottom has a ton of "grooves" on it that would seem to be very hard to clean completely. The tray also is not guided by rails which is different then ours. Having not used their rack or know much about it, take this for what it is worth. As the industry grows I believe there is room for a variety of different cages and this is not meant to be a sales pitch for our way, just my observations. Jesse, Freedom Breeder
